How to Join IMC New Zealand

IMC New Zealand welcomes new members and enquiries from anyone interested in the management consulting profession.

Joining as a CMC means that you join an international network of experienced management consultants recognised by their peers.

You can now apply to join IMC New Zealand online. Details of our membership types and subscriptions are given below; if you're ready to apply now, click on the Apply button below to get started. The application process takes only a few minutes and you can pay the relevant fees using your credit card, or your PayPal account if you have one. Please remember to also email us PDF versions of your CV, summaries of 3 consulting assignments and copies of your qualifications.

You will need to be familiar with the IMC New Zealand Common Body of Knowledge and the IMC New Zealand Professional Code of Conduct.  Both documents are available free from the downloads section of this website under General Information.
If you have any questions or would like further information prior to applying, please contact us and we can arrange for you to meet existing members to discuss the benefits of the Institute and assist you with the application process. It is pretty straightforward.

Experienced management consultants will benefit most from joining as Associate or (full) Members. The difference is level of experience. A minimum level of experience as a management consultant (which can include time spent in internal consulting roles) is required to join as a Member. If you apply to be a member it is likely that you will also be asked to apply for assessment as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) at the same time. It is possible, however, to be accepted as a member but not as a CMC if some criteria are not met.

IMC CMC's are required to meet the current accreditation standard set by ICMCI http://www.icmci.org/cmc-standards

Joining as an Associate or Member requires:

  • Making a personal attestation;
  • Completing a short online form;
  • Emailing your CV, 3 summaries of consulting assignments and copies of your qualifications to info@imcnz.org
  • Providing names and contact details of referees;
  • Paying an application fee and an annual membership fee.

The easiest way to join the Institute is as an Individual or Corporate Affiliate. All you need to do is provide your name and contact details and pay a small fee.

More detailed information on the different types of membership is provided below.
